I put the 9.705 beta software version on my MyGig and thought I’d share.
The install was easy, simply burn the files to a CD (as a data CD not audio). You should have 2 files (cd_Info.cdi and config.cdi) and a folder (becker). Insert the CD in the MyGig and after a few seconds it will ask if you want to update version 9.(your current version) to 9.705. Press yes and 15 minutes later you will be updated.
Go into the engineering mode (press seek up, seek down and menu at the same time). The very last menu option is the one we’ve been waiting for
Press Enable JK VR/HFM :smokin:
Exit engineering mode and go to system setup and marvel at the new options for phone pairing and VR.
Pair you cell phone 0000 is the pin for most phones. Enable pairing on your phone like you would connect a Bluetooth headset. Like magic your Jeep now knows about your phone.
Call your cell phone to test. It will automatically turn the radio sound down and prompt you to press uconnect or say answer and answer the phone for you. No need to call and thank me, I have caller ID
I don’t have a mic yet to test VR but found a $20 mic lockpick sells as a stand alone. I’ll have mine on Monday. I’m 95% sure I now have all the functionality Jeep disabled for a grand total of $20 for the mic (plus shipping).
Here are some more screen shots
