I'm going to put the bumper on in the morning. I'll post up pics. I took the tire carrier off for powder coating ...the pivot and latch system is very impressive.

Yeah ...the ORH top was a PITA to put on. Took me the better part of a day, but for all the bullshit it took to get it ...it's a great top. I'm actually glad I waited. I'm trying to help the other guy out. Tim sent me some incomplete instructions ...I'm going to mail them out.

Glad to hear your got the top on and you're pleased with it. I'm needing a new top in the next year and will wait on the ???"new and improved"??? Besttop trektop and see how that is and if it's not cleaned up enough I may bite the bullet and risk my money and sanity and go with the ORH.

I want one!!! Got a couple questions though. 1. Is there a specific purpose for the tab at the top of the tire carrier? and 2. it looks like there is a threaded cylinder next to the hinge. Is that true and if so what is it for?

It seems like the bumper is attached to the frame via the two large tabs. Do you think those tabs are enough??? I kinda feel like too much abuse (rock hitting) may compromise the tabs??? I'm not a welder so I may be wrong.

My FLW bumper has like square tubing that goes around the frame rails (not sure if you know what I mean)... it seems like that should be much stronger??

After looking at the pics I was wondering how exactly the latch works. How does it release and latch shut? I'm confused. Looks bad ass by the way! I would love to see it in person sometime.

Eric, please post some pics and install tips after you have it installed. I see a third hole on the frame rail closer to the rear. It doesn't have nuts welded to the inside like the 2 towards the front, but it looks like it'll work with that long grade 8 bolt they provided.

I hope this is strong enough because most bumpers tie into the cross member also.

Another foreseen obstacle I see is bolting the spare tire mount onto the piece that's bolted to the carrier. How the hell do you get a wrench in there to hold the nylock nut? The damn thing is completely boxed!

I just finished painting the bumper and will be painting the carrier tomorrow. Took some time to finish cause paint drys slowly in just above freezing temperature. I hope to have it installed by tomorrow late afternoon.

The spyder web that goes on that metal plate is in my garage ...not sure what color it's going to be yet. Match it with the red rock or match it to the gold color of the PSC shackles? Thoughts fro the mob?

I like your idea to color match it to the shackles (gold) The should look great against the red rock.

The tab at the top of the carrier is the CB antenna mount. The threaded cylinder next to the hinge is where the swing arm stopper plunger (can't think of anything better to call it right now) gets installed.

Yeah ...I know what you mean by the square tubing that goes around the frame rails. I'm not worried about that with this bumper. Just seeing it first hand and handling it gives you an idea how stout and well made it is. There's a part of me thinking that there should be two more gussets welded into the bumper, maybe on each side of the spare tore cut out. Maybe something the weld in later.

Inside the latch there's two silver tabs that look like an upside down "L". If you pull up on the horizontal one it releases the latch. There's a "J" shaped bolt that attaches to the silver tab and comes out the top of the latch housing ...that's where the billet top gets attached.

Fitting Pics

As requested:

The only thing I need to figure out before I drill and secure is how far the tire swing should be from the door handle when closed. When sitting vertical it's almost touching the handle.

Other than that is a great fit!!!! Of to powder coating on Monday for a price quote.

Yeah...high speed string. There's actually a little adjustment room, but it can go straight vertical without touching the handle. You have to drill the hole through both sides of the frame rail. It's one of those PSC "clip nuts" that secures the grade 8 bolt.
