Had a chance to see this in person in Moab. It is actually pretty impressive.

The rear tube completely surrounds the end tanks. (which are EXTREMELY durable, they will support my weight (235lbs)). The tube actaully bolts to the frame on one side and the bumper on the other. It would be VERY VERY difficult to actually hit that water bottle.

The swing action of the tire carrier is awesome. Wish more carriers would do it this way.

The offset is slight, but needed to have full access to the handle and a shorter lever arm to hold a bigger tire.

Quick video of how easily this thing works with a 37" tire on it.

Here you can see the offset and the access to the handle........and how securely it holds my dogs.

I like the fact that it opens with the gate but was not impressed by the design. Do not like the plastic corners/tanks. AEV replied that it was extremely durable Kayak plastic. Maybe with the exhaust under the tank it will heat up the water for tea. Took sone photos as well...

For the expedition purpose it kind of makes sense to me.....kind of. If space is really that tight that I need to store my water in two small tanks in the bumper than I am sure that I don't need to be gone that long. But that is just me, an even less than weekend warrior.
