One of the best kept off road secrets is wheeling in the Kingman, Arizona area. There are 40 to 50 named trails with over 10,000 miles of two tracks just in Mohave County alone. This is the county that was able to stop BLM from closing trails with a little help from Ric Swats.

Now these trails aren’t just your everyday trail where you are wheeling moderate trail then hit difficult obstacles a couple of times on the trail. These trails are one big, long difficult obstacle with huge rocks, ledges and waterfall climbs winding through the Hualapai Mountains or the Black Mountains. A mile long trail could take up to five or six hours. The first time I went to Kingman I wheeled the trail Homecourt. I thought we were on the trail, but it turns out we were actually on the two track to the trail. The trail follows a wash and during dry season the trail is one long rocky obstacle. This is where I wheeled my first rock ledge. It was my first difficult off road trail wheeling with the big boys. It was so amazing and empowering! This was the Fall of 2019

These trails to the trail are challenging in a different way especially if you are afraid of heights. There’s a lot of tight curves and switchbacks up and down the mountains. It’s like a double bonus. This is the case for most of the trails in Mohave County.

Then in 2020, I went to Kingman to wheel two other times. Twister and Wayne’s World are two fun moderately difficult trails near each other. There is Safelite in the Black Mountains where you wheel up a challenging climb of several rock faces which during wet season are a series of waterfalls. An amazingly scenic and challenging trail with by passes. Then there is Secret Pass with more great scenery and cool Native American history to this trail. Candy Ass with a gnarly waterfall climb. I have videos of some of these trails on YouTube.

If you are ever in the Kingman, Arizona area look up the group Rocks and Wheels (RAW). They are a great group of wheelers who can take you out for some amazing technical wheeling.

The man helping me through this obstacle is Larry Whatley! (RIP) He was one of three Jeepers killed in a train accident when they were coming off a day of wheeling. He was an amazing wheeler and super great man!!! He will be deeply missed in the Jeep Community.

Wow, looks amazing! I need to get out there! Sorry to hear about your friend. What's your handle on YouTube?
Thanks, it was actually 3 friends who died. Horrible, horrible accident.

That's my YouTube channel below. I am pretty excited as I need about 170 more subscribers then I reach the 10K mark. That was my goal. I never expected to reach it but hard work and dedication helped, plus tips from my YouTube Junkie kids. I am not super popular like Bleepin Jeep or any of those "big time" Jeep YouTubers nor do I have super techie videos. Just simpleton videos. I have a semi decent following. I like the fact that I help Jeepers. One of my videos helped a lady find her Ray Ban Sunglasses that she thought someone stole. They were in the Jeep's Black Hole. I like to be able to help people. It's who I am as a person. I also helped a guy find his drain plugs, he had standing water in his Jeep for days. .

Care to share this one?
You never heard of the Jeep's Black Hole?

One day I heard about cabin filters (I didn't even know they existed ). I was told when you buy a new Jeep they don't put in a filter. i was curious. I went in search of mine. I took out my glove box (yes that ages me) to look for it. Instead I found a bunch of stuff I thought I lost.

I did a YouTube video on the Top 5 things I didn't know about my Jeep. The Jeep Black Hole was one of them. There was a comment from a Jeeper who found her Ray Ban's in the Jeep Black Hole and thanked me. I have received a few comments from Jeepers finding long lost items.

Jeep delivered units with cabin air filters depending on option packages. For example, if you have auto climate control, it comes with the filter.
Good to know!
I don't even know if I have auto climate control. 😁

I also heard if you drive a lot on dusty roads a cabin filter is pointless because you would need to change it A LOT!
