Metal Cloak Suspension thoughts from my POV

So today was the first time I had a chance to ride in a 3.5 Game Changer equiped Jeep. I live in NYC so I had the chance to take it on the highway and into local 'stop and go' streets. Hands down, BEST RIDE I have ever experienced in a Jeep. I say this because I have been testing a few Jeeps in my club with their lifts to get an idea of the lift I wanted on mine. Id driven everything from RK, Terraflex, BDS, Currie, Sky Jacker, Mopar, Ranco and Tuff Country. Im not here to rate the other lifts or say what I liked or didnt on those.

With that said, I only got to take 2 of those said lifts off road, the rest were all street drives only.

The MC ride was shockingly soft yet still felt firm exactly when you needed it to be. It didnt buck or whip around like most lifts Ive noticed and when coming to a hard stop, felt in control and smooth as if it was a steady stop. I also liked the fact that it didnt groan or squeek when going up a small bump such as a driveway or a sidewalk. It was always quite and moved quick and when it was suppose to.

The jeep I was in only had front and rear bumpers so the lift was a little higher then the 3.5, but once you were driving, you could barely notice it at all. It ALWAYS felt like you were stuck to the ground even at high speed curves. At one point I hit 65mph on the highway and I tried a few jerking movements to each side and not once did I feel out of control. At that speed, it even took the horrible roads of the city with ease. Dont get me wrong, you still felt them, but no where near as bad as the other lifts.

My only issue in the past was the fact that I never seen this lift or had a chance to test it out. But I finally got my chance, and from that chance, Ive made my decision to go with this lift on my jeep (when the funds allow me to of course).

I will also note, the guy who had this lift on his jeep put close to 16k miles on this lift with pretty serious off road time and he said it still drove like he just put the lift on. He did recommend that with this lift I also get control arm skids on the front because he did jam up the driver side mount pretty bad, but overall I loved it. Still didnt get a chance to off road with that lift, but just from the drive alone, I'm set on it. I only hit the trails once a month (if that) anyway.

You are not alone.
I can't say enough about my MC kit. It's ridiculously smooth. SO much better than my old kit. Body roll is nonexistent. It also flexes in case you didn't know.:)

Thats one of the main reasons I took interest in the kit. Max flex without an extremely high lift or long arms.
I also love the fact that it doesnt require any serious modification to put on. I hated the idea of having to tear away at the jeep just to put some other kits on. I plan on running stock flares till I can afford the Nemesis flares. I know I wont get as much flex with them as the MC flares, but the Nem flares look fuckin awesome.
I am so glad to read this. My kit comes in next week!

GA Tech area. If in the neighborhood, take it for spin if you want. Just give me a warning call so I leave keys if I'm out.

It's just different down south. It boggle the mind when you're down there.

Ps thanks for the review this is the lift I want to get also and I haven't had the chance to drive my friends Jeep yet.
I got about 30k miles on mine and still very happy. I will be tearing the joints down soon for inspection and lube. I will report my finding with pics in my mc thread.

Don't worry Tom, you'll drive it next time out.

With that said, I absolutely love the MC setup. It's all around perfect imo.

My new favorite quote... it's going in the sig.
These arms are intriguing ...any comments from users about the lower arms being straight vs high clearance bent?

Nice!!

I replaced my rk arms that are bent for ground clearance with the metal cloak arms that are bent for tire clearance. I would take tire clearance over ground clearance any day, my mc arms just slide over anything. The mc arms also allow me to run 37x13.5 toyos with 17x9 4.5" backspace wheels with virtually no rubbing.

Man, if I had the money right now and didnt have to spend it on stupid christmas shit... This kit would be on my rig right meow.
Maybe I missed it, but was this jeep equipped with the 6pak shocks?

Yeah, the "Game Changer" lift is the one that uses the 6-paks.
Too funny. Read your post and immeiately thought of Super Troopers...."am I drinkin' milk from saucer, am I hoppin' all nimbly bimbly from limb to limb..."

Seriously though, I cannot say enough about the MC 3.5 kit either. I swapped out my RK 3.5 for this since my wife didn't like to drive it once I installed thenRK kit, I didn't care too much and that kit performed well but I can definitely say the MC kit is way smoother and more comfortable in road manners. I am running the 3.5 MC kit with my RK RRD 2.0 shocks and the ride is great! Maybe someday I can pony up and try their shocks too!
