About two times a week when I start the jeep the motor will not rev higher than 2500 rpm with the gas peddle floored.Seems strange everything runs well otherwise.Any advice would be appreciated thanks. Also I am using a AEV procal.

Is it an auto? Is this in gear trying to go down the road? My ranger wouldn't go over 3k in neutral or park, is it protecting itself?

Surely another auto guy will be able to chime in

Based on my recent happy good fun time with the stealership, take a look at your fuel lines. I had a crushed line that was preventing proper fuel flow.

Assholes at the dealer told me the only way to repair / replace was to drop the trans.

If they actually dropped that trans, I wil drink a quart of 5/W20.:pissed:

It's a fix you can do yourself if this really is the issue.

Most new automatics will prevent the engine from revving past a certain point in neutral or park. I know many new Fords do it. I have a stick so I haven't encountered this issue.
