That sounds interesting, i'll go, so long as I can go without all that crap we discussed...I can bring a 32'' spare just in case...

If you're running 35s, there is NO point in bringing a 32" spare. Even if you're not locked, the spider gears are whipping around each other at different rates and you'll toast them even faster.

Not so... A spare, no matter what the size, is better than no spare at all. Depending where you are and which wheel/tire is damaged, you swap a full-size wheel and tire onto the drive axles, put the smaller spare on the non-drive axle, and get off the trail and to a repair shop asap as possible.

but is burning up the gears worth it? or should you just get if flat bedded out of there....thats the question. I am open to all ideas, i have no clue. 0 experience....

his point is you can put the spare on the front then limp out in 2wd drive. The go to a tire shop.

but in general you need a full size spare, believe me. I've had multiple flats in 1 day and almost needed to borrow someone else's spare just to get out.

We dont leave thoes who wheel with us broke in the pines ( its a Jersey Devil thing, dont feed the beast.)Im sure someone will let you run there spare to get you to the road and get you fixed up. Come on down.

I was always under the impression.. the older YJ's, that used that vacuum actuator to engage the front axle.. has those spider gears spinning constantly while in 2wd..

think about it, no power from the TC (driveshaft not spinning) and the front right axle not connected to the pumpkin.. front left tire and axle spinning every mile you drive = spider gears going crazy all the time.

I would think you would be ok running a stock 32" tire in the front while in 2wd.. the ESP system wont like it one bit but it should work

Happy Saturday. Working. Sucks.

BB are you going to the pines tomorrow still?

I'm taking a ride to PA tomorrow to pick up a set of 35" BFG's.

Tried to order AEV Savagres yesterday from Quadratec and they won't have any in stock until mid-January. Blows.

Or maybe I'll just have to go with Pintlers.??

Yeah I get the point, I understand getting flats and stuff in tough terrain, but we are talking the pine barrens here.... I imagine its just some puddles and thats all...similar to 101 in Melville?

I would appreciate anyone who is willing to lend a helping hand. I would most certainly do the same. Dam those jerseyians!

New Development.....I have a ford f-350 with a 2 car trailer. I can probably fit 3 wranglers on there if they are all 2 doors. We could save some money by loading up and going together. Plus, there is a winch on the trailer, so if anyone breaks anything, all we gotta do is get out of the woods...

(after last comment, I realized its the NJ barrens, not LI)

This message is really directed to BBrish (person who invited me). Let me know what you all think though !!
