Note at the very end, there's what sounds like banging. I've had that before in this same flex situation. It sounds like my driveshaft is hitting a rock, which it's clearly not. I don't have the OEM tranny skid (have skid row which doesn't contact it). Maybe, the DS is making contact with the tranny pan. I'll check for evidence of that, but I was mudding all day after this spot so that will be hard to tell.

EDIT: Front drive shaft at U joint is making contact with the bracket from the Skid Row engine skid. I had to put spacers on that bracket to avoid bending the tranny lines. Obviously, less spacers should be used ;)

Check to see if your right rear coil is rubbing on the track bar. When you change the rear pinion angle to match the lift it tilts the spring perch back and messes up the alignment of the coil. I had that problem and it sounded kinda like that whenever the right rear tire dropped down. It can be fixed rather easily with these:

When my front drive shaft hit my tranny pan it was more of a grinding sound. If you did hit the tranny pan the boot covering the splines would most likely be torn.

Is that you in the CJ? Nice Jeep, must have been a newb riding in the water like that. Or did he walk the beach and come back to that? A couple of years ago there were a bunch of Hummers down there tearing up the beach, riding in the surf lines.

John (Hubjeep) is cool. When I wheeled with him at the Jamboree in the Poconos, he had his first motor, which was a diesel from a Isuzu. The Cummins is a huge improvement. it runs low 19's now :bounce: (search him on youtube).

oh, and as I understand it, it's a full CJ7 `Glass body on a TJ frame, not just the nose.

Dimitri, as for my gearing, you're nuts! :grinpimp: Actually, I was telling people that day how I was amazed at how much the jeep crawled at idle. I barely used the gas pedal all day. And MY MPG WENT UP!!! I got 17 MPG average there and back - not counting the wheeling at 2MPG of course.

Adam's MA wheeling trip

Howdy folks. As you know, I'm planning a small off road trip to MA this Spring. I have to change the date to June 17-19, which is Fathers day weekend. What better way to celebrate masculinity and testosterone than playing in the dirt.

I will be heading up friday afternoon to wheel saturday, and likely come home Sunday. We'll be in the charlemont/n adams/savoy area along Route 2. You can camp or stay at a hotel. I'll give more details to anyone interested.

This is intended to be a modest sized group of experienced wheelers with capable rigs. We won't be doing insane stuff, be we will be taking whatever trail feels good at that moment. My friend from CT knows the area well. We have wheeled together a lot. He's good, but "only" driving a non lifted Rubi. We've done Old Florida Road before, but he doesn't want to do it this trip. Use that as your gauge. Feel free to watch the vids on my youtube page.

Rsvp interest here and them pm me your email address.

Sup fellas, long time no talk. I moved down here to Puerto Rico. I should be gettin my jeep sometime soon. Its on a barge right now coming down. There is a rain forrest and some serious mountains with "roads" aka trails. Going to be fun.
On a more mechanical note, has anyone had E-brake issues with it not holding? I just had the boots adjusted and the handle was tight. But after a week of pulling the handle, it got looser and looser. Watcha think?

I've never even tried.

Old Florida Rd. is definitely not intended for "highly modified" rigs. There's only 2 spots on OFR that need to get bumped or winched, the rest of the trail is a very nice easy day of crawling. We've had guys on 33s unlocked make the entire trail without an issue every year.

So I see the interest in having a LI meet-up and Rausch Creek run has faded.
What is everyone doing this weekend? There are a couple of Car Shows going on this Saturday and Sunday that members of the LIOR Club have been pushing. Or do people prefer to meet up at a free/impromptu location?
Whatever the location it would be cool to actually meet some of you that I have probably waved to. I think I have seen Greenmeanie quite a few times on the Meadowbrook headed north while I have been headed south on my way home from work at @ 4:30.
