This is the Long Island thread. Post up whats happening on Long Island
Yeah I get the point, I understand getting flats and stuff in tough terrain, but we are talking the pine barrens here.... I imagine its just some puddles and thats all...similar to 101 in Melville?
I would appreciate anyone who is willing to lend a helping hand. I would most certainly do the same. Dam those jerseyians!
I have yet to hear about a flat bed truck going in to get someone out of the pine barrens.but is burning up the gears worth it? or should you just get if flat bedded out of there....thats the question. I am open to all ideas, i have no clue. 0 experience....
THIS IS GREAT NEWS :bounce:New Development.....I have a ford f-350 with a 2 car trailer. I can probably fit 3 wranglers on there if they are all 2 doors. We could save some money by loading up and going together. Plus, there is a winch on the trailer, so if anyone breaks anything, all we gotta do is get out of the woods...
(after last comment, I realized its the NJ barrens, not LI)
This message is really directed to BBirish (person who invited me). Let me know what you all think though !!
Are you ******* kidding me? Try to "limp" off the trails I go on in 2WD in the middle of ******* nowhere and then tell me again that going into the woods with no full sized spare was a good idea...Not so... A spare, no matter what the size, is better than no spare at all. Depending where you are and which wheel/tire is damaged, you swap a full-size wheel and tire onto the drive axles, put the smaller spare on the non-drive axle, and get off the trail and to a repair shop asap as possible.

Do you want to play? Then you need to being appropriate equipment. Even the ******* basics, tow straps, d-rings, tree saver, FULLSIZED MOTHERFUCKING SPARE, acceptable tow points. I'm not saying bring tools and spare parts and all that like we do, but the basic shit to get you tugged or off the trail if an emergency happens. Trust me, the last thing you want to do is have NOTHING in your truck and have to rely on a bunch of people to use their stuff to get you off the trail and have them waste half a day getting you out...
Taken directly from the LIOR website:

The trails we run are in the outback, far from any repair shop or parts store. There are some items we recommend you have with you. Only you know the condition of your four wheeler. Pack accordingly.
Spare Parts (hubs, ignition, belts, assorted hardware)
Tree saver strap & shackle
First Aid kit
Axe or saw
Air pump or compressor
Tire plug kit
Extra fluids (oil, water, gas, transfercase & differential fluids)
Winch
Survival kit
Lunch
Camera
Please be responsible. Always watch the truck in front and the truck behind you. Don't get lost. Leave the trails cleaner then you found them.
He also forgot the [TRAIL GOD][/TRAIL GOD] also...Dimitri, you forgot the [Rant On] [/Rant Off] stuff..
Sounds like your trail leader was lucky he had y'all there
Not sure if your rant is directed towards me or not but i'll say this. I had no intentions on going wheeling before my rig was properly equipped. Others told me that I would be okay if I had "____" criteria added. I have camped a bunch of times, although it is different, there are some concepts that are similar. When you do something where there is no help around but yourself, you need to be prepared for the worst. Naturally, you cannot prepare for the worst when your wheeling, but I get the point. True, i've never been to a true off-roading place, I was simply asking questions, they weren't approaches on how to get around having the right stuff to go. The whole point of this forum, is so I can learn, and thats what im doing. Im not looking to **** anyone over. This has nothing to do with trail god or whatever the hell you're talking about. Wheelin' every month with soo many ******* clubs from the northeast and having to put up with situations like that at least every other month gets on people's nerves. We're here to help, we're not here to fix your shit when you don't carry a single thing. Yes, I've seen plenty of rigs run smaller tires when they blow one or break a bead, but they are trailered, not street driven. Good luck finding a tire shop open on a Saturday night to fix your shit when you don't even know where you are. Why risk it? Just bring what you are supposed to. Point of the matter is, you need to be prepared, period.
/end rant on stupid approaches to wheelin'...without even wheelin'...![]()
No, he should sell them to me for wheeling. Or we can share them.Joe, they all fit in the back of the JK? Your wheelin' days are over? I think you should keep the MT/Rs for wheelin' days.
Nice view!A few pics I took up at Beacon this weekend:

Didn't get any downtime to take pics, hardly ever stopped minus the breakage.
