Ok, So while I am waiting on my lift kit to come in (RC 3.25 susp and 1.25 bl) I am going to go ahead and ask this one last time just to make sure I dont screw something up.

I have been reading around and from what I was told to what I have read I dont think I should have gone with the 37s. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the higher ride and the look of the 37s, but with all the "little extras" for me to go with the 37s, is it really worth it? Heres my deal with my Unlimited X:
1. Dont offroad it much yet as I have not had the money to drop into it to make it trail worthy (use the YJ for that one!)

2. When I do, it is usually light trail riding as I do not rock climb with either of my jeeps (use them more for nature rides and camping...camping where most cars wont go, but camping none the less)

3. Drive the JK just as much as the YJ on the interstate to work (only about 4-6 miles though)

4. I have an auto with the 4.10 gears.

5. I have already exceeded my budget for lift/tires

Should I have gone with the 37s or should I be looking to trade the 37s for some 35s???

From what I have seen here and "over there", I have gotten so many mixed reactions of this and that and you need this or you need that, when the fact of the matter is, I wont be able to buy "this or that" for quite a while. Any help would be great!

as well as gears, programmers, larger tire carrier (which isn't THAT big a necessity).

I was told that with light driving and it being on the hwy and not as much trail, id be good just with the lift, which Im sure is a matter of opinion, but I also cant afford to get my axel trashed.

You are very unlikely to break an axle running 37's on the highway. You may wear ball joints, bearings, etc, a little quicker, but not enough to worry about.

If you are happy with the 37's keep them, deal with things like gears, programmer, etc, over time.

OH I LOVE THE 37s....and this is the kind of info I was hoping to hear :bounce::beer:

I personally agree w/PhilD.

Especially with what you're looking at doing with the Jeep (which is camping and light trails etc.)

As far as your choice in lifts..I have the same set up with 35's.:beer::beer:

I never planned on going 37"s with my build but here I am with them. Will I ever go back? Hell no, love the look. First wheeling with 37"s starts on the 1st of May. Can't wait.

Like Phil said, work on the things that should be done to support 37"s over time. Its all good:beer:

anyone got suggestions on how to fit the 37s though? I have spacers for the wheels, but the tires on stock rims and the flares are stock as well, will I have a problem or do I need to buy something like extended bumpstops?

I've seen plenty of people wheel 37's with 4" of total lift and stock flares with no real issues. Worry about it when (if) it happens. Trimming the factory flares is the cheapest and easiest fix if you have any rubbing on the flares.

You'll need to trim/fold the pinch seam at the front of the rear wheel well. You may have some rubbing issues on the front factory bumper, but that's an easy DIY trim job too.

Man I love this place, I asked the exact same question "over there" and got one reply...and anything else I ask I always get the stupid "well search is a good place to start" answer...d bags!
