A few years back we lifted our jeep (body and suspension) to get 37s under it. I'm going to pull it back into the shop to swap the gears out to solve three problems we've notice and one of them being weak/underpowered steering. it really shows up when we put the front lockers on, and have to pull the steering wheel with all we have, but all slow speed steering is hard in general.

There seems to be so many steering options I'm not sure where we should even be starting. We aren't looking for high end perfection, but more along the lines of an 80-90% solution. There is cylinder assist, full hydraulic, larger pumps, upgraded gear box etc. Then I'm wondering does that extra force acting on various member require upgrading of the various linkages etc?

Hydraulic assist is the way to go. PSC has several kits. Redneck ram is a little cheaper but is missing a lot of the system and does not even compare to a full kit. Steering assist takes the stress off all the components except the mount and the tie rod clamp, those both need to be really strong and you also need to orientate the cylinder correctly or you will put extra wear on your tie rod ends. With 37's it is always a good idea to upgrade the tie rod, drag link and track bar to some HD units.

I did the Redneck Ram many years ago and it has worked perfectly. My shoulder was just out of surgery and arm was in a sling at the time, so a local shop did the install for me. They made up hydraulic hoses for me, I didn't use the stuff WTOR gave me. They welded the ram mount and we used a PSC tie rod clamp. I have Synergy drag link, tie rod and Synergy's tie rod ends. I added a heat sink cooler to the return line. WTOR said it wasn't needed but it just ran too hot for my tastes. My JK is an '09 with the Delphi box, so rebuildable in theory. Not sure the parts are available now.

Bear in mind as time goes on things get more refined and more & better stuff can come online. Were I to do it todfay I'd give serious consideration to PSC's beefier steering box and no ram.

I added the Redneck Ram assist kit my ‘14, and also purchased the upgraded steering box with their kit. Install was fairly straight forward. Got rid of my steering stabilizer, and RAM went into that location. Had to do some minor welding for the tabs for the RAM, but was not a big deal ( if you have a welding machine). The hydro assist really helped stabilize my steering, and made steering easier. Would recommend it.
