JK storage problem solved!!

Alright...finally solve the storage problem I have had when taking my JK on extended "adventures". In a 2 door JK there is NEVER enough room to take the required equipment for a day or 2 of wheeling with a family of 4....until my custom built Chaser trailer arrived late last month from Adventure Trailers::!!

I ordered this trailer after checking out several other versions on line....it is not the cheapest BUT when off roading with it "You get what you paid for". I bought this so that I can take the entire family out for weekend trips in Colorado or Moab. It is really made to handle MUCH more. These things are built in CA and shipped world wide for Expedition purposes. Currently they are delivering 5 of them to Italy for a trip to Antartica. Doubt mine will ever see that kinda duty but with 2 kids you never know.

Immediately after taking delivery I took mine straight to MOAB!! It came with Everything I needed for the trip.
Mattress the size of a king size bed
propane partner steel stove
shower
referigerator (no not a cooler) this thing froze my drinks!!
marine battery able to run everything w/o external power for 5 days
air bag suspension for leveling out the bed on any terrain
20 gallon water tank and pump
2 five gallon fuel tanks
storage area is completely sealed against water and dust
tent opens in minutes
etc
etc etc because I am sure I forgot something.

Anyway here are the pics. I am absolutely loving this thing and at 1000-1200lbs my JK had no problems pulling it through the CO mountains at 12000ft!! Yeah it was slower than a standard JK with no load but I kept up with traffic.

That thing is just too cool. It really looks like the days of "roughing it" are far behind you.

The tires on it look like 37's as opposed to the Jeep tires that look like 35's. Is that the case? If so, how come? Guessing because of the hitch location.

BTW- I would love to sleep in such comfort and no longer wake up with pine cones or rocks in my back!
Yeah....your not the 1st to say the tires look bigger on the trailer. All wheels and tires are the same size and same bolt pattern. They do it on purpose so you can swap them around. I guess I have just worn down the KM's with the 10,000 miles I have on them and the KM2's just look bigger???
Very nice setup.

So, does this mean you will be doing a 7 tire rotation? :D

Nope, BUT......you guys giving me a complex about my small tires will force me to buy a new set for the jeep!!

I was only half way kidding about the 7 tire rotation. I do a 5 tire rotation. If you really want your tires to be interchangeable, you may want to consider it. Otherwise when you add new tires to the Jeep, unless you use the exact same tire, they won't match the ones on the trailer.

It would add a bigger cost when it came time to upgrade, but you will also get a longer wear out of them.

:D At least you only need to get two...Just swap the larger ones off the trailer . :D
Looks great. First class roughing it.
hell i coulda solved your problems with a 4 door and that roof rack with a tent built in

Thought about the roof rack tent option but it wouldn't have fit in my garage. I even talked to a dealership about trading in my 2dr on a 4dr but they offered me 20 grand for my 08 rubi with 10,000 miles :thefinger: and way too many options.
Nice setup! i've been eye-balling that chase trailer for a while now...someday i'll get one :)

Congrats. Your going to love your Chaser. We just got back from a trip to the Eastern Sierra's.

Oh and as far as taking it to the limit. You never know. This was a mild mannered me at the 2006 Expedition Trophy.

And for those that want to see what the inside looks like. Here is how I store my belongings.

So I didn't see the cost of that beauty. How much?
That is very nice. Now if you get the 4 door jeep you can have lots of room for the family too! :)

They start at about 6 grand for a basic trailer and go up from there. They are all custom built according to your individual needs and budget. Mine is not loaded out but tiped the scales at $14,000 and change.

Holy Sh!t...Those rocks and pine cones dont feel so bad all of a sudden! :D
For 6 grand, I'd make it myself. By the looks of it they have a little over a grand in material, unless I'm not seeing something. The tent is probably custom that may be worth 4 grand. The does look very nice.
:bounce: WOW! Very nice!

Gear...If the trailer can survive this I definately will not push its limits....AWESOME photo though!!!

Where do you get those storage boxes? I have seen them before but never seen them for sale.
