Wake up this am and in the night someone went all through the
Console. Nothing was taken because there's not much to steal from it.
How are y'all protecting you jk when you take the Doors off?? Will a car alarm
Pick up someone going through your console? Dad put a alarm on his boat that
Came with door device that when someone opens a rod locker a alarm goes off... Will that work??

Yes, it should work. My boat has the little spring loaded plunger type devices wired on every hatch and door. You open a hatch or a door and the alarm horn starts screaming. You could put one on the glove compartment too.

I say don't lock any compartments and don't leave anything in it. Start locking stuff and people will want to know whats in it...and they'll get in it.

Trying to "protect" a vehicle with no doors? They already went through it and you have nothing in it...sounds like you are doing it right.

I have a console that locks. Also, some alarm systems come with shock sensors, if someone steps up into the car to go through the console you can set the shock sensor to pick it up and go off and your key ring will light up and beep if your not close enough to hear the alarm. Definitely worth the money!

X2. Really sucks to be violated like that, but you can't beat not having anything worth stealing to not be robbed. If you really need security you need doors and a hardtop, but I tend to be a proponent of the opposite strategy.

Somehow when I posted I never even saw goody's post. I was saying its better to get a security console than an alarm. Probably best though is to not leave anything valuable in there like Goody said.

I've got about a thousand dollars worth of tuffy steel in mine. Bring a lunch box and a set of tools if you want my gear...
