Has anybody used the Apple RCA cables with the lightning adapter plug for an after market head unit?

I have the new JVC kwav71bt and I want to run the apps via iphone 5 but not to sure how it will work or if it will at all? Any experience?

Mine will still play, but you can't watch videos because the video port from the iPhone 5 is now accessed through the headphone port.
