The guys at Atomic 4x4 in Austin Texas installed this RK long arm suspension on my JK. As with everything else that I've had done at this shop the quality of work was outstanding. Atomic is not just a service shop, they are master fabricators & welders and can handle any job. Here are a handfull of pics. I'll post wheeling pics soon!

One note about Rock Krawler: This is my first product that I've bought from them. The kit is huge and shipped in 16 boxes. But every little nut and bolt was there, very complete. Quality is off the scale good. And instructions are also top notch. Great outfit - thanks RK!! / and no, I don't work there :)

Edit: a few wheeling pics at the bottom of this page.

A few new parts!

Looks better with 37"s but I think that a guy could run 40"s with no prob, for sure with flattie fenders. First wheeling trip on new tires in a couple of weeks. Love this RK kit, rides great. Thanks RK and thanks to John at Atomic 4x4 for the build advice:beer:

Before - 35" Mick Thompson MTZ with 40K on them. Great tire:

After - 37" KM2. Even better tire:

thx for the pics it still has a lot of wheel well in there a little too much for my taste. maybe some 4.5 inch springs with the rk stuff.

i gotta have a lift to look forward to during college.

does it feel unstable at that height at all with a 2dr?

The RK 3.5 kit would probably be just right for you. With 35"s it has a bit less of distance from the fender to the top of the tire.

The ride is really good. Very little change from how the stock springs felt, I'm impressed with it.

Yeah I do believe that it sez on the RK site (link below) that the 3.5 kit can run 37" with faltties.

yea i jsut saw that a little bit ago as well. i get ancy and post before i read all the way tho:D
Damn dude. Awesome rig. Any pics of that beast flexed out on the 37s? Plan to go larger? I'm thinkin some 38.5" Pitbull Rockers would look kick ass on there. No? :smokin:
Thanks man, a little Big Bend National Park Flex from last week:

I'll go 40"s after going D60's and flat fenders. A couple of years away.

Very nice!
Very nice!
Thanks Atomic4x4 brother. Love your build to - very nice.
I do believe you have an enormous amount of room in your fenders...You could fit 38" tires with stock flares...or easily stuff 41" in there...could even do 42".

Looks good...Just a lot of room in there with stock fenders..

Yeah I will go to 40"s in a year or so - with flat fenders and D60's. But for now, with this crazy flex 3 link RK suspension I get so much flex that in this 2nd pic, the right rear tire is grinding into the rear flare. So it has long legs but as you can see this kit needs a lot of room for that max flex. Thanks for your comments and god bless long leggs

Kev, where did you mount your bumpstops on the front since you cut off where it normally gets mounted? Thanks!

I don't see any. Some people switch to air bumps and weld brackets to the frame and use the factory pad on the axle, some people don't run any bump stops.

That's what I thought it looked like to, but figured I couldn't see everything.

I definitely need something for bump stops & limit straps... I thought my shocks(12" travel 5150s) were my limiting factor previously, then installed the long arm. I went to remove the transmission jack from under the front axle and wham, it drooped so far I couldn't even get it out & had to rachet strap the axle to the frame to get it off the hoist! :shaking: I guess the factory arm location w/ RK mid-arms was my limiting factor! It rides 100% better than it did previously too and I thought it rode excellent before. Driving with open headers was a bit obnoxious though, so that may have distracted me from the the ride difference. :grinpimp:

Do you mind posting pictures of your set-up(bump stops & limiting straps), or a link if you already did, sorry! I'm dreading putting the coilovers on(due to the work of cutting everything off) but need to because my passenger side shock hits the frame hard now, it barely contacted before.

edit, Phil, just found your thread so never mind posting pics or a link! Sorry for hijacking Kev!

No bumpstops yet but plan to add a set of air bumps soon. I'll go with a setup pretty much like PhilD did. Its probably not good to over compress that big coilover shock.
Thanks for the positave comments guys;)
Kevin,

How do you like the coil-overs on the road? I'm sure that they are wet-dream while off-roading, but what about daily driving, handling, etc.? Too soft?

I'd really love your thoughts here, because I have a 4-Door, and I'm contemplating going coil-overs up front after I install a long-arm kit.

Thanks man.

Choose your own spring rates and you can have them as firm or soft as you want. You can also adjust the pressure in the shocks.

Depends on what brand you go with.

EVO has their valved king shocks
POLY has their FOX and sway-a-way shock ( they can help you with spring rates)
Rebel offroad - I think do king shocks too - they got knowledge.
ROCKKRAWLER Has their kits.
Ballistic fabrication is well know on pirate4x4.

I have kings on my two dr, on road manners their great, go with your choice of shocks, and you wont look back.
