ok so I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and get new shoes pretty soon
I don't think I've ever seen anyone run the combo I want to use so I'm wondering if there's a reason it won't work.
Looking at:
Classic Lock wheels or pro comp 6079s- 16x10 w/4.5 back spacing
with
Nitto Mud Grapplers - 33x14.50

I also have spidertrax 1.5" spacers
I'd love to go 35"s but can't justify $2K to regear and I spend a lot of time on the highway and in hilly west texas, this thing already runs in 3rd gear a lot.
So I figure if I can't go tall, I'll go wide :grinpimp:

Anyone have any ideas why this wouldn't work?
Good idea? Bad Idea?

How much lift do you have? I don't see it listed in your "goodies".

I'm running the same wheel specs that you're looking at with a 34.5"x12.5" tire and a 3" lift. I don't have any rubbing issues. Plenty of clearance in the rear too. Even if you have slightly less lift, I seriously doubt you'd have any problems with a 33"x14.5" tire, especially with the spacers. You may be able to do without them. But it would definitely work with them.

Your tires will stick out a lot though. I'd guess that the edge of the tread would stick out roughly 3 to 4 inches beyond the stock flares with those spacers installed.

I'm running polyperf 3" springs in front with TF BB spacers out back (soon to be PP 3" springs)
I figured they'd hang out quite a bit if it looks too bad I'll throw some flares on it
