I have a short haired dog (Bull Mastiff) that I have taken 4 wheeling with me a few times and trying to get the hair out of the carpet is a nightmare!
Anybody know of a trick??

Man I thought this was a joke. Short haired dogs are almost worse than long haired. I would try to use a shop vac or other vacuum with strong suction. Use an attachment to work the hair out from the fibers. The car washes usually have really good vacuums, but I hate the thoughts of where it was used before. Another good solution would be a roll of 2" masking tape. Just pull off a strip and start pressing it onto the carpet. Seems to take forever, but it will do the trick effectively. I still feel like this is a joke. Anyway, those are the best solutions I have found. Good luck.

Haha, it's not a joke. I am just sick of dealing with this and figured SOMEONE has a great trick I don't know about.
The tape thing might work though. I have used a tape lint roller but something stronger like duct tape might do the trick better. I'll try that.

I use a dog prush (the kind with a brush on one side and the rounded pins on the other) to help work them out and then I vaccum. Works pretty well for me... sometimes I havr to use the tape method

The JK is by far the worst Jeep I have every owned for traping dog hair. (and I have owned 10 Jeeps).

I don't know what they did with this "new" carpet, but it SUCKS for this.

I use a shop vac and one of those rubbery dog hair brushes with pretty decent results. But, it is still a chore.

My wife bought one of these from Wal-mart and it worked. We bought some furniture from some friends that had a Doberman, and it was shocking to see the amount of hair. The brush roled the hair right off the counch and we vaccumed it up. We had tried everything, our daughter as it turned out was allergic to pet dander and hair, she sits on the couch with no problems.

lint brush for clothes seems to work real good. If it's not strong enough itake duck tape and put on lint brush over a fresh lint tape. Take a strip of the duck tape and apply the back to the lint brush. Pain to get off so don't do a continuous wrap. Very simple but picks up allot even without the duck tape.

I was just using elbow grease...just sitting at the car wash for an hour *****ing the whole time.

Then I started doing nothing...that worked for a while but now it isn't.

I decided there is two choices left for getting the hair out the carpet...get rid of the carpet or get rid of the dog...kinda like the dog so Herculiner is on the shopping list.

My TJ Rhino lined, TAN! It is graet in the summer but kinda sucks in the winter. Does not retain heat anywhere near as well as the carpet. So I would put the carpet back in for winter.

I had DIY tub liner in my YJ in BLACK and it REALLY SUCKED for the dogs. The black bedliner gets REALLY REALLY hot in the sun and burns the dogs paws. If tub lining for dogs, I would do at least grey.

i just got a dyson and haven't tried it for the jeep yet...

To get dog hair out, i just use a shop vac and if some is still left I get some duct tape to remove it. So far, so good.

I have a white boxer, and he coats the entire interior with short white hairs and it's a serious pain to clean. I shop vac and rubber glove it but can never get it all.
