Best bet on the hitch is to try to find an OEM one that someone pulled off. It will be less in the way than most receiver hitches and will have all the tow capacity that the Jeep does. If you're looking for better departure angle you could look for some of the bumpers with a receiver built in, but read carefully! Some of them specifically state that they are not rated for towing. :scratches head:

For tire carriers, there's a whole wide world of options out there that will meet your criteria. Do some searching and see what appeals to you.

 

i have a factory one pulled off and will let it go for $50 shipped to you.. i am in houston so it shouldnt take long if you want it. it just bolts through the rear crossmember with 2 or 4 bolts, i would have to look but i have them..

Hitch only, no wiring....

I just installed this kit on my friends Jeep last weekend and it was a 30 minute job at most. Just "hot glue" the washers/nuts together (its makes it simple and faster) and you can easily install it without taking the bumper off...
The wiring harness plugs directly into the OE connectors so its well worth the price...

I did the same kit , bought it else where, made identical to the factory and installs identical to the factory hitch .. easy to do.

when I ordered my rubi, checked it off on the list so I didn't have to bother when I got it. We had gotten my wife's off the lot.

Many after market rear bumpers are set up to accommodate the factory rear hitch. It's tucked up nice and high...

 

Same kit I bought just a little more expensive. I grabbed mine off of Amazon and got it delivered in 2 days and installed it in about 30 minutes and that included dropping the rear bumper.

got mine from quadrotec it was fast and easy just had to drop the rear bumper and the wiring harness plugs into the drivers side taillight four bolts hold it on to the frame did pull a 12 ft long trailer with 2 full size utility four wheelers did great

 

Got my through quadratec and Y harness from a local auto store took maybe a total of 20 minutes to have it all on and set up

i needed one to tow my little fishing boat, and for the rack ill be using for my ice shanty this year. i bought the premium one from quadratec with the harness. took me about 10 minutes, easy as pie. i love it, looks great, does the job, no complaints. even came to my house within 2 days
