I'm wondering if someone with a VVT Truck Hemi Jk could measure the hood clearance above the throttle body. Any fixed reference point on front of engine to inside of the hood. I appreciate it in advance.

If no one gets back to you sooner, I can get you that measurement tomorrow. I brought home my work vehicle so the JK is unavailable....

Ok, the clearance between throttle body and the rib support is around 3/4 of an inch. This hood is bare, no underhood padding.

Thank you sir, I am wondering if I could get another measurement, perhaps from the throttle body(OE) flange on the intake to the inside of the hood. I'm assuming you have the JSS sheetmetal throttle body adapter, from where it bolts to intake. Hope I'm not being a pest sir

The sharpie line indicates the throttle body to JSS intake unit...
Are these images any good to you?

And a "Thank you" to j3ff3ry j33p for the tutorial for fixing pics. I kept fucking up but all good now!! So Jeff,:beer::beer:

why not swap intake manifolds? truck one points up right? the car ones which fit are straight and work with the wk 90* angle tube to the factory air box.

Ya the truck intake is tough to package for sure. The bonus is the variable intake runner length, long runner builds torque, short runner benefits higher RPM operations. Why give the best of both worlds up without a fight?

My issue is with the intake adapter itself. Intake plenum size and runner length changes affect performance. Maybe just splitting hairs however, I have been told I over-think sometimes. I was more curious if the addition of a tasteful hood scoop/bulge would allow for OE throttle body placement, obviously the OE intake tube itself wouldn't fit but perhaps a 3.5" Cobra Head one would. Spitballing while I collect parts I guess.

I have been eyeballing that hood as a possible solution, any idea how much additional clearance over OE in the throttle body area?
That may be a bit hard to determine. I dont have access to a Hemi swapped JK so can you measure the distance from the throttle body to a fixed point like the weather stripping on top of the grille? Ill try to take that measurement and see what I can come up with (might have to be this weekend though).

See if you can work with these TOTL.
Please keep in mind that my radiator support has been snuck forward a smidge .

You guys are great! Just can't understand the units on the tape measure from down under! Hahahaha! I have no doubt the JSS kits works with all hoods, I was trying to find a hood with enough room to skip the adapter.

I wasn't sure if the measurement would confuse you. I did have a metric and imperial combined tape measure, but the estranged tried to get a 8.5 metre measurement from a 8 metre tape. End result was a screwed up Stanley.....

So the 260 mm is roughly 10 3/4 inches...

Thanks RodJk, I was just playing around with that comment, I'm from Canada. We use metric too.
