Hey,

I need some help. Just got Jeep 3 weeks ago. '08 Unlimited X Stone White. I want to start adding some color to the Jeep, but still keep its clean (as in not too much, dirt will come) look.

Please post some pics/opinions of what accent colors will look good.

Thanks,

I think a nice metalic blue (electric blue on older Dodge trucks) would be a great accent on white.

Not too sure what you are planning to accent, but I would check into a few catalogs etc...to see what accent colored items are offered. It seems that the basic yellow, red, blue...will offer the most choices. Trying to find "off/ unique" colors that are the same from one manufacturer to the other will be impossible. Silver is a good bet, but that does not mean chrome. Some like chrome, but I can't personally stand chrome accents.

The accent color that I like most for a white vehicle are BLACK or GRAY. That's just me, but I really like neutral colors. JMO

I've been toying with the idea of red as I know most companies make something in it. Just looking for differant ideas to see if something else sparks my interest. The electric blue isnt a bad idea.

Thanks

Yellow and black. There was a heavily modded YJ in a recent issue of Reader's Rigs (Petersen's) that was white with yellow and black accents and it was spectacular...................IMHO. :D

Congrats on the new JK!

I had red accents on my last white Jeep but went with blue on the this one and like it better. Here's what I've done so far - Fox shocks, winch rope, shackles, blue anodized rings on lights, windshield sticker, blue Riddler logo on diff covers. I've gone back and forth trying to decide whether or not to put blue rings on the wheels. I can't decide if it would be too much blue or look tacky ... any suggestions??

Edit ... forgot the Candy Blue PowerTank

I think the blue rings look pretty cool to keep the accents flowing, however, it looks like you use your Jeep off-road and If they start getting scratched and gouged up, then silver will continue hiding the damage, where as the blue will start to look pretty mangled. JMO

Nice looking Jeep! :)

Thanks. Good point ... that's one of the things I keep thinking about. I've got a few scratches on the silver ones now, but not too much. Probably not enough to bother me if they were blue. Last trip to Fordyce I got into a rock pretty good on a climb, and nothing but some scratched bolt heads - ring came away clean.

I tend to agree with ONLYSUPER..."beauty marks" :D...but I know not everyone feels that way. If they are anodized blue, then it would be a PITA to try and touch up the scratches successfully. Not sure if they are ano'd or not.

Yah, ONLYSUPER nailed it on that one ... Beauty Marks. That's the way I felt about the first gouges on the sides of my sliders - glad it wasn't on the sheet metal though, don't know if I would have felt the same way.

If the rings got too scratched up though, they are cheap to replace.

The rock rash on skids, sliders, rims, bumpers, etc...tend to add "character", but yea...the sheet-metal dents and hard scratches tend to bother me a little more as well. Maybe because I still have a couple more years to pay it off. I do have a lot of pin-striping but I'm used to it now. I regret getting such a dark color instead of silver. To date- the worst dents on the body have come from not securing the door straps. I now have two almost identical dents on either side of the jeep, from the doors swinging open, causing the side-view mirrors to dent the body. I saw another JK on the trail once with the same size dent/ same location on it. I asked the guy if he got mad when his door swung open and caused the dent. He looked so surprised...Then I just pointed to mine and we had a good laugh. :)
