I take delivery of a 2016 Willy's Wheeler at the end of November. The first order of business will be to upgrade the stock headlights. Looking for advice as to the best halogen solution out there.

You will need to get a new harness from a place like Susquehanna Motorsports so that you can provide 12v to the lights and with the proper sized wiring.

The harness is very well made and requires zero splicing into your factory harness. It has the proper high temp H4 connectors for the bulbs and the trigger lead is plugs right into stock headlight plug.

As far as housings go, I am aware of two. The Hella H4 E code housing should be easy to find. The Cibie e-code is also good but harder to find.

Personally, I find the low beam performance of the cibies to be so good that I just use 55w/100w bulbs with them.

I think if you have to split hairs between these two bulbs, it is going to come down to the pattern that they make. The Hellas have a flat surface and the Cibies have a concave surface like the stock housings.

Not sure if this is true but I seem to remember reading that the Cibies had slightly more fragile glass.

I have run both in my Jeep and have used mostly hella in my other H4 vehicles.

I run the Hella H4's in my Jk and love them. I got everything from Sesquehana Motorsports, nice one stop shopping place. I run the standard Hella bulbs 55/65 bulbs now, I have tried the 55/100 Hella's and the Phillips Xtream's. Both of these were good but they all burn out in about a year. The Phillips had the best light out put but couldn't see spending $50 a year on bulbs when the standard Hella's work just fine, I still win when people want to play who has the brightest high beam game at night.

I have heard there is another head light option out there, IIRC it's made/marketed by rampage. It looked like it was just clear glass unlike the Hella or Cibie.

Delta has an H4 Halogen 7" conversion for the JK that I have found works well ( they fixed the lack of a waterproof sleeve on housing back so no H2O leaks in any longer )and I zip-tied the connectors to the stock harness and it has never shaken loose. I found some stupid bright 65/100w Bocsh H4s from Russia ( Oseram like) off eBay that are insanely bright . I went this route because everything else on the JKUu is LED but I can't trust the headlamps to LED yet.
I paid under $170 for bulbs and housings and just run some fabbed-up stone guards from a '70's Triumph sports car to protect the glass.
70-80% improvement over stock lighting.

+1 on RallyLights/SMS harness. Running Hella H4 E-Codes, tried Cibie E-Codes, went back to Hellas.

Ran Philips Xtreme Power +80, Philips Xtreme Vision +130, Osram Night Breaker Unlimited +110. The Xtreme Power +80 lasted about a year. Xtreme Vision burned out 1 bulb in less than a week on 2 different sets. Currently running the Night Breakers.

Xtreme Power has the cleanest beam pattern, the other bulbs brought more artifacts out in the beam and they have a bluish tint on the high beams.
