Hi Cimmerian, actually no people seem to kinda like it. I think it makes it's pretty unique here and embraces the Jeeps American heritage. A few people have asked me where my "Make America Great Again" cap is. I'll try get one when I'm over in November just to humour them and then wear it whilst playing Zac Brown Chicken Fried at full volume!Welcome!
Do you get a lot of crap for driving a Jeep with a US flag grille in South Africa?
So I'm part of a group of about 20 people some of which have Jeeps and other offroaders. We try to get out once a month on just a day trail. I've been out with them a few times and now on the 22nd which will be my first time in my own Jeep. We also took her to a meteorite crater called Tswaing... could drive right into the bowl.Welcome!
What is the Jeep life like in South Africa? I am guessing you have no shortage of places to take it off the road. Got any pictures or video?
Just to add to my previous post when I first got it I couldn't work out why all these other Jeep drivers would flash or wave at me but figured out there was nothing wrong they just all excited to see another Jeep on the road. I try not use it as a daily driver simply because petrol is so expensive here but for short trips in summer it is super awesome especially at the moment it's hot and not raining yet so she is naked (the Jeep not me). Below is the hoist system and door frame I built last weekend. It does mean now that I keep the Jeep in the garage and my Audi outside which burns me a bit but such is life.Welcome!
