Just wondering how long a new clutch smells ? I took my 07 in and they replaced the clutch and all the seals in my soft top. The clutch smells like crap now but I'm told it's burnning off some kinda glaze or something.The top still leaks but it was leaking in the storms we had a few days ago and the wind was kickin so maybe in normal conditions it will be ok.The service dude said they put all new and with the half doors it's probably gonna have some leaks a little at best .The clutch feels nothing like the original,it is soft as hell but it is workin so what the heck.

I've never change a clutch in a Jeep but when I put the first replacement in my 1997 VW Rabbit with 190,000 miles on it, the new clutch smelled to high heaven for a week. After that all was well.
