6L80E 2wd to 4wd conversion:

Remove the stock 2wd tailshaft and housing

Tap the 2 holes using a 1/4-18 npt tap and fill holes using a 1/4 pipe plug. Be sure they sit as close to flush as possible so they don't interfere with the adapter plate.

Install 4wd output seal

Cut shaft as per instructions that come with the adapter. We chose to just cut the tip of the threaded shaft off and not the splined part until we test fit. You want to be sure that the shaft doesn't bottom out into the input of the transfer case.

Bolt up the adapter and test fit the transfer case

Is it the same procedure for the 2wd to 4x4 conversion of a 6l90e?
