gear question....

I cannot say for sure on the JK but on the TJ Dana 44 axle the break point on the carriers was 3.73, if you wanted to fit ratios lower then 3.73 you had to change the carrier. The TJ Dana 30 break point was 3.54 so to fit a lower ratio then 3.54 you needed to change the carrier.

No you do not need any carriers with a JK gear swap if it came with 3.73 or 4.10. But if the shop is asking you I would find another shop.

I kind of felt the same way....but the shop is cetered more around big rigs, its not an off road shop. They are specifically a gear and axle shop, but most of thier work is big trucks. I trust thier work but i guess they are just not that up to date on vehicle specifics of small rigs....
But anyways....Thank you for the response!! Definitely the answer I wanted to hear!!
