I was recently rear ended and pushed into another car, my lower cross member is bent back a hair, should i straighten it before installing the skid or will it not make a difference.

Btw, i was at a standstill and some goober wailed into me at about 35 mph, the JK looked like nothing happened, the other 2 cars were mangled pretty good :thefinger:

Sounds as if the crossmember is bent that the frame may be "tweaked" as well. I wouldn't do a thing until you find out what the a$$hats insurance company is going to do. I know you need to go through your ins co initially, but I don't think I would be doing anything to fix it w/o finding out where/ when your help (money from the insurance) is going to come from. Sure doesn't sound like it was your fault. JMO

Hope you are OK.

the problem is that it was already repaired and then i found that was not repaired, its a long story. Im about to kill the body shop that fixed it. the tabs that the cross member is welded to is bent by about 1/4 inch
