I have done searches on roof leaks on the 2011 unlimited freedom tops and many say add weather stripping from home depot...... Is there anyone who has done this have any pictures of where they placeed the stripping? Mine leaks on the passenger side near the floor board at the bottom of the door. :th_pray:please help a newbie out
Thanks

Take it to the dealership and let them fix it. If it comes to them not being able to the will replace the panel on the top.

Four trips to dealer. They finally fixed it. Mine leaked at the passenger door near the windshield. They replaces weather stripping with "new design". Take that for what it's worth. I see extra adhesive securing weather strip.

No. Add some putty adhesive wear the plastic detachable header meets the top, front portion of the door. Then seal that area with silicone and voila. No more leak. I have been leak free for over 5 months now. No recurrance. If you need I can dig up some pics of where to place the putty.

Weather stripping does not work. I tried it. If yours is leaking from the same location as mine did, (from where the door meets the windshield), def not.

OK - I'm in... I get the stupid front passenger floor puddle as well, and I know it's coming from the passenger door seal near the top. First, I think the water channel along the edge of the Freedom panel is a major screw-up; it looks like they designed it to purposely trickle the water right into the door! I'll live with getting wet whenever I open the door, but not creating an indoor pool when the door is shut.

Then, going by some searches, I checked the door alignment for any variance and it looked fine. If I loosen the hinge and try to make it any closer along the top it'll be too far in for sure.

I also asked my service writer at the dealership about any service bulletins, advisories, or whatnot about replacement weatherstripping; he could find none (so if anyone has the sb or advisory number or whatever you call them so I can have him specifically get it, I'd appreciate that). Otherwise, I have to be there on specific day to have them test water tightness with their "specialist" and probably go through several repeat trips and hours of wasted time for them to eventually fix it for free under warranty.

I would appreciate pictures of where you puttied up behind the plastic trim and sealed with silicone and I'll give that a shot. My guess is you built it out away from the frame to get a better seal against the weatherstrip.

I get that all Jeeps have "character" and leak and creak and burp and fart and all sorts of chit, but something of this nature to me just doesn't really fit the "beauty mark" type of flaw. Sorry Jeep, but this issue should have been resolved at the factory level years ago and I think you dropped the ball.
