That is some F'ed up shit right there. :shaking:

If you need a medical reason (i cant think of as i would say its pretty common sense why you need a damn foot) I can talk to my wife who is a PT. I'm sure she can give you the medical terms for it.

The Dr gave the Insurance company a lesson in the science of walking and how it takes 2 feet to do it so they said the would cover the new foot. :bounce:
Well, glad to hear the Dr was able to talk some sense into them.

WTF were they thinking??

Hope your recovery continues to stay on track.

I would've said because I suck at hopscotch.

But yeah....they fuckin suck. My dad had been hospitalized recently for a serious infection from diverticulitis. The diverticulitis is just about taken care of, but has left a small hole through which he is bleeding into his ball sac. Doctor is great and put in for an ultrasound so they can find the source of the bleed.

Insurance company decides they're going to take their time and the approval process "should" take 2 to 3 weeks. My sis, who has been running the ER in Long Beach for twenty years, told him to call them back and tell them he is going to check himself into the ER because of the swelling and pain. The ER visit will run them much more money than an ultrasound....so they will approve the ultrasound quickly once that call is made.

Just figure out what you need to get done and how it can screw them the most if they don't want to do the right thing. You can get the attention you need.

Yeah insurance companies suck. The general practice now is for them to deny everything because most people won't fight it. Even if they do fight it, the insurance company can usually outlast them and the patient will just give up. I have to deal with the bastards every day I'm at work. I'm telling ya, THEY are the worse thing to happen to health care in this country. I'll get off my soap box now.
