Looking at putting manifolds on my JK. The driver side is starting to make some noise so I figure I will get the parts and be ready to swap hem out when they get worse. I don't want or need Headers so don't tell me I should upgrade. Besides unless you are going to spend some coin the headers that are out now all seem to have their own issues.

My question is has anyone ever had a new set of Manifolds ceramic coated before they put them on? The only down fall I see is the one place I checked out bakes the parts at 750 degrees F for 3 hours before they coat. Then they shot peen and grit blast before they coat. The they coat them and cure them at 750 degrees F again for 3 hours. I am just not sure if this will weaken or harm the Manifolds.

The ceramic coating should help them flow better and run cooler. I am thinking this does not sound like a bad idea if it may help them flow better, run cooler and not crack as easy. Plus the cost of two new Manifolds and having them coated is still cheaper than a set of headers.

Just looking for some opinions and thoughts on the matter.

The heat-treating isn't going to hurt the manifolds, the shot-peening isn't either. How much do they want to coat them?

As far as flow, that's going to be pretty negligible improvements on something like this.

For the 1300 degree coating in the Bright or Dull Silver finish was around 120 to coat the parts and 20 round trip shipping. They even said 5-7 business day turn around.

I think for the cost I am going to keep running Manifolds coated or uncoated because they are cheap and easy to replace and the short tube headers just don't seem to be a good solution. The long tube headers would be awesome but the cost is just something I can't sell myself on at this time.
