$300.00 ?????? I'll gladly sell mine for $299 then.......since it only cost me $59.00 for a new at the dealership. Apparently it's not rated as a skid plate for rocks! When I cracked mine, I didn't even look inside, just accepted the new one after waiting 4 months for it to arrive! Then gladly paid Kilby for their nice relocation kit to protect it and put it where jeep should have installed it!

Anyone know whats inside of it?
I found this a while ago...

The EVAP canister is filled with granules of an
activated carbon mixture. Fuel vapors entering the
EVAP canister are absorbed by the charcoal granules.
Fuel tank pressure vents into the EVAP canister.
Fuel vapors are temporarily held in the canister until
they can be drawn into the intake manifold. The duty
cycle EVAP canister purge solenoid allows the EVAP
canister to be purged at predetermined times and at
certain engine operating conditions.

Your also not supposed to top off your fuel tank since the overflow flows into the evap system and rests in the charcoal can. Once it breaks down into a gas again it passes on but hace the active charcoal sit in the fluid decreases it's life span.
