I am sure this topic exists somewhere on the forum but I could not find using the search function so here it goes:

Problem:
The driver's side front seat squeaks when I move side to side or get in/out of the Jeep. I thought when I bought the jeep that it was wind noise against the rear freedom top since I was driving during the last of the warmer days with the two front panels removed. I noticed the problem is getting worse and with the whole hardtop on, this theory does not seem to be the cause of the problem.

Research:
I have read on other forums that the springs need to be lubricated with a silicon based product or WD40. Any hints before I drive back to the dealership? I would expect this type of problem in 5 years not 4 months and only 4,000 miles on the odometer. Not being picky but it is a brand new vehicle and has yet to be off road.

Help a brother out if you have any suggestions.

I have had the same problem with my jeep it started about a week after i bought it and it drives me nuts. I put some WD40 on it and that lasted for about a month when it wore off i was considering shooting some rust check in there cause it would lubricate everything in there, but i haven't gotten to that stage yet.

Might try shooting some graphite where the springs make contact. Not sure...just a suggestion.

Since it's not normal for an older vehicle OR newer one, I wouldn't put anything on it. I would take it in to the dealership and let them know when I made the service appointment what was going on.

Familiar problem

I have had my JK since Nov 08 and the noise has been going on for about 1 month. I just have not had a chance to really get into it. I am going to take out the seat because the dealer will probably say something like, "dont move side to side or dont get out". Ha Ha. No way I will take it in unless I was unable to find out that kind of problem my self.
