No leaks, so far it's been good.
I haven't seen a torque spec for the cap, I posted the instructions above and it doesn't list one.

The torque spec for oil filters/housings is always "hand tight".

Never ever use any kind of tool to tighten them.

For the JK it's well known that you tighten until it cracks then back off a 1/4 turn

Factory spec is 18 ft pounds

18 foot pounds (24Nm) is just about hand tight. It is very easy to exceed that with pretty much any tool with a lever arm.

Just something to keep in mind: while the OEM plastic thing may be a possible source for headaches and misery, make sure that if you decide to "upgrade" for aluminum version it better come from a reputable brand. Not all aluminum castings are equal, and they may prove to be made of chinesium...

Everything points to a worn out pump or a pressure regulator/relief valve (if Pentastar has one).
