AFAIK the D44 rear is an option you get with the tow package or on its own? someone correct me if Im wrong.

The Subwoofer will come with the optional 7 speaker Infinity package.

Just go to the Jeep website and build a few, it'll show you all available options n stuff. I know the 07 X's could even get the 4.10 gears but for 08 3.73 are as high (low) as you can get.

i think all the jk's now come with a d44 rear now, no more 35. if you get the tow package i think you get the 4.10s
Unless it's an '08, then ya get 3.73's. Did a quick online inventory search for the local area and even the stripped down X's show 'Next gen Dana 44 rear axle' in the standard equipment section of the window sticker. As much as it might upset us all, I think it's safe to say the D35 has gone the way of the dinosaur :D.

edit: that's on '08s. If you happen to find an '07 on the lot there is a very slight chance that it may be a 35. Being that these things don't seem to sit on the lot too long, I wouldn't be very worried about that happening though.

As noted above, if you are looking at an '07 2DR X, with a manual tranny you will always get a D44, with the auto tranny, you will get the D35. I am not sure what the case is for the '08s.
Actually, I think it's the other way 'round... although I wish it wasn't. My '07 JKX 2dr 6spd came with the D35 in the rear. The X's I saw with the auto tranny came with the D44. Some X's, with the S package, also came with the D44. Mine is a C package/11/'06 build date.

I am sure the 6 speed has a D44 and the auto has the D35. That is taken straight from the Jeep literature as well as what I have seen under my 2DR. Mine is also a "C" package. My suggestion 07JKFan is to take another look to make sure you do not in fact have the D44.

I have no doubt your JK has the D44 with the 6 speed. A friend of mine's does as well. His is the S package (your's too?), mine is the C package (one step below S). I really wish mine had the D44 w/4:10's, but sadly not so. Had I been more informed when I purchased, I would have looked for one with this key feature.

That's likely a misprint in the literature about the auto having a D35. If you go to the "Build Your Own" portion of Jeep's site, you'll see that the 4:10's are the only option with an auto tranny if you build an '07 JK.

You can't have those with the D35... not stock anyway. Also, the D35 comes with 3:21's, not 3:73's... Again, a real bummer! Ask me how much I like crawling down a steep hill in low4 and 1st gear... NOT!!:rolleyes: Still have to hit the brakes much more than I'd like.

Don't get me wrong, I love my JK, but I wish I had read up a little more before succumbing to the Rescue Green dimentia... :bounce::bounce::bounce: Color had me hooked in a second and I overlooked a few important details... The axles being the most important for me. I'm glad you got the D44 though!

Hahaha! To further confuse things, Jeep has dropped the C version I have for '08. Now w/ the manual you can get 3.21's or 3.73's in the D44 only! I love it!

Yes, I do have the 'C" package, 6 speed with D44 rear, D30 front, 3.21 gears (that was all that was available at that time unless I opted for an option that included 4.10's). I got my 2DR X because I expected to have to (wanted) make the upgrades in lift, gears, lockers, wheels, tires, etc. myself and didn't want to spend the extra money to get a Rubi with all the bells and whistles already. In any case, I hope to be able to start my projects sometime very soon. Looking forward to it. In any case, I guess that is the fun of this hobby, making the vehicle "yours".

amen, our first jk was an auto 4dr X with 4.10's and a 44, NO tow package, and a hardtop. It also had an LSD.

and our new one has 3.21's (well, had 3.21's...has 4.88 now) with a 6speed, soft top, 1/2 doors, and NO tow package, and no lsd, and a D44

I was under the impression that on the '07's, you only got the Dana44 if you added either tow package, or limited slip.
That was my understanding as well... at least when I purchased mine, but mine was definitely one of the earlier ones... 11/06 build date.

After the first few months they made the 44 standard.
Not sure when the transition occurred, but they've changed so much over the last year. Kinda wish I'd waited a little longer, but then again... I would have missed out on a lot of fun in the meantime... :smokin::D
