Someone mentioned this in another post that there might not be any more fender laws in NJ because there is no more inspection (besides emmissions)?

Is there any truth to this? I figured it was still something you could get a ticket for if pulled over ...

Fenders are still a law, so you could be ticketed for it. Not sure if thats a secondary offence in NJ i.e. they have to pull you over for something else to give you a 'fix it' ticket for the fenders. Dunno. There are plenty of NJLE on here, they could prob best answer your question.

Like mentioned above, it is still a law and you know there are some "over zealous" cops out there that look for any excuse to pull someone over- I'm not one of those. The taking away of inspection was purely a money issue. It in no way means you can now drive junkers on the road without recourse, it just simply puts the responsibility on the car owner to be sure your car is in proper working order. Commercial trucks from 10001-26000 lbs fall under a "NJ self inspection rule" if operated in NJ alone and now our cars kinda fall under the same thing. The violation is an equipment violation, some are primary stop, ie: headlights, tail lights, etc, but fenders, I don't believe, are a primary.

Thanks guys. I think I see factory width flat fenders in my future :) . And I didnt realize that stubbys were a problem?? I just chopped my factory bumper ... hope that doesnt cause problems.
