Well I crushed my corner and ordered a new one. Has anyone else done this yet or does anyone have any info on how to remove the old ones and replace the new ones?

My guess is theres probably some cutting, grinding and welding involved. I would have just gotten some AEV corners to cover up the damage and help prevent damage in the future.

I would have but my tail light is pushed in on the damaged one. The AEV guards have cut outs for the lights. Now if they made them solid I could throw some recessed LEDs. Looks as though there can't be any damage, especially around the light, before installing the AEVs.

That's what hammers are for

Personally I would have removed the tail light, hammered out the dented corner, painted it and put on some after market corners.

I haven't looked, but it may well be spot welded. Either way, as already mentioned, some cutting and welding will be required.

You can drill out the spot welds instead of cutting. Works much better and easier to control.

I've never done this before but if I had to I guess I'd pick up one of those spot welders at Harbor Freight and go for it. It would seem that only th top pieces would require welding where as every where else you could bolt it together. It is interesting on how amazingly simple body panels go together. I haver to admit though, I miss the old days of framework and bolts. Damn, showing my age again.

I feel for ya, I did the same thing on the drivers side.issed: Though not as bad, my light stayed intact and pushed in the corner.

I have the part, but may just bang it out and repaint. Cheaper and with it being on the gas tank side, will be easier.

Only with Jeeps do you hear people talking about "just bang it out and paint it" on a brand new vehicle...

Definately a Jeep thing, and the rest certainly wouldn't understand!!
