Those are both great deals but make sure you check them over really, really well if they are punched in the front. Sometimes there is alot more damage there than you can see with the sheet metal still attached.

Either way, those are great deals IMO. I wouldn't buy that one with 156K on it - looks like it was submerged and that is a TON of miles as someone else pointed out.

If you're going to completely gut it and do a motor swap without the electronics that's another story. :)

Good luck and make a build thread on whatever you do. This is my next venture - a JKU salvage rebuild.

Those are both steals IMO, The first one would prob. need to be gutted, but would make a sweet project. Funny thing about mileage on a car, I've been in the body shop business for around 10 years now, and worked for a while up near Detroit. Up there, anything CLOSE to 100K on the clock is considered very high mileage and at the end of its life. Back down south, we regularly see cars with 250K + on the clock in excellent condition, with the owners not even considering selling/trading up.

Could be the salt, but I think its more the freezing/thawing of basically every component on the vehicle that puts so much wear on em. I'm getting close to 100K now on my 07, and its still literally like brand new when I clean it up.

I watched a bunch sell for around 10 K when gas was high a few years ago. They were all X models and out of AZ and some in TX. None of them were wrecked or high mileage most rentals from HI.

If you aren't looking nationwide, a lot depends on your locale. In Colorado you still can't really touch a JK for less than $15k, even a 2-dr with higher mileage. They are dropping slowly though.

Yeah, we CO folks pay way too much for our Jeeps and yes it pisses us off (at least me).

Lol, not that low. I went by my local dealer yesterday and he had about eight pre-2012 trade ins on his lot, not one priced below $25k. Most were at original sticker.

I'm still thrilled about my $20000 2007 Rubicon loaded with 36000 miles that I got summer of 2010 :gluging: i was only bidder on the no reserve auction.. starting bid was $20K.. plus it has transferable extended powertrain warranty good until 80K miles or 2013
it's still worth more than I paid even with 45000 miles on it now...

I am out here as well, and looking to get a JKU for my personal use. It angers me at the prices around here. I can't pay the prices they are asking for something I am just going to gut underneath. I keep looking in AZ and find them a bit better there. In the meantime the two ProRock 60's in my garage sure do look good.....:blush2:

I know it...I feel like a tard for buying my '09 Rubi new and then tearing into it with impunity. I have a '12 now, but it's my DD so I'm leaving it...uh, mostly alone...for a few years anyway.

And if the JKs seem frustrating....last summer we paid $8000 for a '98 TJ in excellent condition with about 85k miles. At that price it was a bargain in CO. Others in that range are modded, beat...and anything even a little cheaper needed lots of work. To top it off, people won't even budge on the price because they will just sell them the next day for full asking price. It's frustrating as hell.

I do feel that your lonely PR60s are bringing you despair just seeing them sitting there. Let me come by and get them out of your sight so you'll feel better.
