Watched the video. Kinda stumped. It can't be that freaking difficult. They bolt on for freakin sake..
Anybody put these on?

yes I have and I would charge $400 if I were charging for it. it is going to take a lot longer than you think if you want them to look good. I have installed numerous lifts and I can install a lift faster than I can the bushwackers. I would suggest that you do it yourself. it is not difficult just time consuming. My guess is your shop is charging you 4 hours labor and I really doubt unless they do them all the time they are completing them in 4 hours.

Thank you for your response. I've done bumpers, winches, rockers, etc but never these. I'll likely just buy them and install over a weekend. Not in a club yet and not of my friends have a clue. Sadly they come to me lol

Wow... Ok.. Almost cheaper to modify lift and stick with stockers... Lol

Have you bought the bushwackers yet? I installed a set on my 2012 2 dr and never again! I did 3x more cussing installing those flares than I did installing a tereflex 2.5 inch coil spring lift. The stock inners are a pain to cut where they fit right and I almost never got the gaps close enough to make my OCD happy. I traded the 2012 for a 2014 and never even considered swapping them over. My advice is to save a few more $$ and go with something metal.

Do lifts magically install themselves? IF you have to pay for fender install I would think you are going to pay labor for lift install.
I think you may have misunderstood me. It was an attempt at cost analysis and hours paid for work performed. If a magical shop exists, please share it with us.

Ditto with what this guy says.

I had Bushwackers... installed them myself... it sucks, will never be perfect.

And god forbid they ever get bumped on the trail or the street.

I ended up selling them for cheap, then just cut my own fenders. Looks just as good.

not sure what the guys who had such trouble getting them to look good had or why some had them not be solid. If you follow instructions and cut the liners how they tell you to cut them they look factory clean and mine were solid enough to bounce off a few trees on the dusy ershim.
It takes some time to put them on but again not difficult just tedious.
anybody who has done the dusy knows it is one tree after another.

took several hours but they are all "easy" hours. totally satisfied with the fit and function on mine. they have done a great job keeping me off the rocks and trees and have takes some wicked hits. but, regarding your original statement about installation fee, that seems like a decent price for the number of hours invested.

my set took about 6hrs to install....save yourself time and headache and buy new inner fender wells and just don't use the rear inner fender wells and install time will down to 2hrs.

Well after all that I decided to scrap the leveling kit and have a 3.5 lift out on. It's bolted in on Friday. Already sold stock Rubicon shocks,springs,leveling kit, etc. It simply wasn't cost effective to change fenders. I'm going to beat em
Up anyhow and refuse to go bigger than 34.4 (315/75/R16)

First time you do it seems to take around 8 hours, they can be a pita to install. Lots of hardware. $400 seems low with shop rates in the $90 range.
I agree

Got my dealer to install my lift, LEDs (bar, 2 front columns, 2 front bumper), front bumper, winch, bushwhacker fenders and tires. Got the labor at $60/hr ($90/hr normally) because I did this at the purchase of the new vehicle. Purchased them all myself so saved a ton on that end too. Thought about doing the fenders myself but watched a video of an install and thought "that seems a lot harder than they made it out on the video". Never regretted my decision.

Installed the rear bumper, remote start, backup camera, rock guard/step sides and used/preowned touch screen OEM radio myself.

Gotta pick your battles.
