I have been very happy with my JCR Daggar rear and plan on picking up a front one in the next few months. My vote is for stubby. I like having a free path to the tire when I rock crawl. There have been plenty of times a full width bumper would have caused problems on obstacles (Gauntlet at Morris Mountain, for example). Before you get a bumper, decide on a few options
 stubby, mid, or full width
winch mount or no, sunken or no
no guard, prerunner, winch guard, or full stinger
light mount options (squares for duallys, round for factory, or none at all)
 Recovery points or no
Material... Aluminum or steel (weight factor), look at Nemesis for aluminum bumpers
Protection. Some offer options for skids for the crash bar and/or electronic disconnect motor.
Approach. Do you want to cut frame to get a better approach angle (poison spyder BFH) or do you require the crash bar (for something like the Teraflex dual rate sway bar)?
