I personally DO NOT like full width bumpers but that is opinion based. Stubby better for tire clearance and more articulation mostly useful in the rocks. Full width offers protection for the entire width of the bumper but may rub some tire when fully flexing the fron depending on tire size.

I went with the Rugged Ridge XHD for a few reasons:
1. Great bumper for the price
2. Recessed winch mounting
3. Fog light provisions
4. Modular
Cons with the XHD
1. Weight

If I was only into expedition style off-roading, then I'd go full width.

But, if you like rock crawling or anything similar, go mid-width or stubby.

Like a girls booty, I enjoy healthy size not too big, not too small.

All kidding aside, depends on your use. I like the wider bumper for the extra bump protection when I mall crawl and it never got in the way offloading.

I voted stubby. I hope to start building mine soon, as it is now with the stock width bumper my tires would rub if I had to articulate much, this is why I stubby.

I made mine a midwidth for two reasons. My wife doesnt like the bulky look of the full size. I wanted a little more protection than a stubby offers. So I have the protection I want with the clearance I need!

To me it depends on what you are going to do with your fenders. If you are going flat fenders then go stubby. If you are keeping factory fenders then a full width looks better and offers more protection. :gluging:

Stubby, I think it looks more aggressive.
Ignore the female ontop of the jeep, she was included in the deal. Haha jk.

Check your state laws as well, some states don't allow stubbies.

Stubbies are good if you do a lot of rock crawling.
