Hello to everybody out there!

Ever since I was a young girl, I had ALWAYS wanted a jeep! Now retired, I decided to "go out with gusto!" Signed a contract of sale on a new 2014 JK today. It will be another 24 to 48 LONG hours, till I take delivery of it! Meanwhile, I couldn't figure out exactly HOW to use this site! There does not seem to be any "thread" for new members to introduce themselves, and, also, when I searched my primary topic of interest (secure storage), the results I got seemed way off topic. Anyhow, what I am most eager to learn about are the various ways that a JK owner doors and soft top off, can keep items SECURE in the vehicle. Sure hope I get some answers to this question real soon.:)

Welcome to JKO! You will find many bad ways here :D to spend retirement with your new Jeep.

Many options out there for secure storage. Tuffy Security Products https://www.tuffyproducts.com is a brand that is very popular with their secure storage. I have a 2-dr, with the Tuffy Security Deck enclosure behind the rear seat, and the underseat security drawer (for Mr. Glock).

Honestly if your taking the doors off your best option is to just not bring anything of value that you have to leave in the vehicle. You can lock the console, you can lock the arm rest but no theft is 100% preventable. I carry a backpack with me when I take the doors off so I can just bring what I need to with me.

Really the best advise is not to leave anything in your Jeep of value, but since it will be inevitable that someday you will have to leave something behind, here are a couple of suggestions.

You can buy a lockable drawer to install under your seat. There are 2 that I know of, one from Bestop and another from Tuffy. The Tuffy is a bit larger and seems stronger than the Bestop.

Another thing you can do is to add a lockable trunk of some sorts. I don't know if you got the 2dr or 4dr model, but you can get them for either.

Lastly, I always carry a strong bicycle lock in my Jeep to lock up things to the roll bar. It doesn't stop the determined thief, but it helps with the grab and run type.

Welcome to the madness, enjoy your Jeep.
