BLD in the front for sure I would say. Lots of people are running them and seen to be happy.

No person experience in my part though. Just research

BLD uses the ABS system to work the brakes to help limp an open differential along. Far from an actual locker.. Unless ya'll are talking about some brand or design also named "BLD"...

I'm having some work done on mine right now, and i decided to go with a LSD front and rear as most of my driving will be on road.

The only down side that i have seen to the Detroit Truetrac is that you might have to apply a little brake to activate the LSD functionality, but I don't really see that as an issue. The other locker up front i was looking at was an Aussie, they seem really sturdy and work well for the price.

As I understand it, every 4wd JK has brake lock differential front and rear.

Any open differential can be made to apply some torque to the non-spinning tire by applying some brake, but the BLD feature is supposed to do this for you, and limit the required braking action to the axle with the spinning tire.

BLD is built into the JK, as someone already said it is an ingenious use of the already in place ABS system. LSD is traction control incorporated into the differential and the hands down winner is Eatons Truetrac gear type LSD.

Interesting BLD explaination from a Chrysler engineer here, a female engineer no less, in a muddy bikini.
