In the last three months, I have almost used up my entire life savings modifying my new 2008 4 Door X. I now have a lift, wheels, tires, flares, lockers, gears, bumpers, winch, roof rack, lights, tube doors, premium sound system, recovery gear and a bunch of cosmetic/useful little goodies.

Now I'm ready for more power! I have about $4,000 left to spend. Please share your thoughts with me on what I can do to inscrease HP?

CAI/muffler will net you a little. Computer tweaking a little more. The stock manifolds are almost headers anyway, try 'em if you want. You could probably get into a supercharger for around 4k. V8 conversion will help a bunch, but way more than 4k. I think that's about it.....welcome to the board!

No just do a search on the forums to find out who put a thread out on a SC you are interested in then pm the owners and ask them if they think it was worth it. I have heard it is. Do your research.

Good Luck

Have you thought of getting a programmer? Might be a good idea since you put on a lift and larger tires. Did you re-gear when you did that?

Some people say this won't work, some people say it will, but you can try a Magnaflow exhaust, throttle body spacer, and an air intake.

If you end up getting a supercharger, make sure the one you get will fit when you close your hood. I briefly looked into getting one and have heard the Avenger is the best one...but that could be just a matter of opinion.

Yes, the programmer would be one of the three or four minor mods (CAI, cat back, chip, throttle body) I am considering. Lensman above says the minor mods aren't enough. My mechanic told me to wait for a turbo kit. The SC's seem to all have issues but I'm not finished with my research yet. I'm going to contact at least one unbiased owner of each SC (RIPP Hesco and Avenger) and weigh out the pros and cons.

Thanks for the feedback!

We're on our 3rd JK here in the shop, and honestly...bolting in a throttle body spacer, catback exhaust, and air intake is just like pissing in the wind. We had all of those installed on the first two.

We will probably install them on the new one as well, but again, I don't expect much.

They'd be good supporting mods for a supercharger, but they'll never make much of a difference on their own.
