Well, I never put the hydro assist in this fall for other things going on.

And now my box is leaking. Along with the hose fittings that "test fine" when they were tested under warranty.(now expired) With 32"s on. What a POS.

Chrysler really cheaped out on a couple parts when they did the Rubi.

I think WTOR is going to get a call...

Going to be an expensive winter - I just broke / replaced my ski boots as well!

I'll admit, it seems like total overkill, but I'm thinking it'll be better in the long run in terms of $$ vs what I'm doing now(stock). I've eaten multiple Intermediate shafts now as well... everything is torqued properly and the vehicle is pretty close to being fully aligned.

I also noticed that when my stock BFG mudders are on, it seems to seep less vs when I have the much heavier MTR Kevlars on.

You may want to talk to a few people who have hydro. It helps for large tires yes but hwy manners are not as good and they can be a hassle to get set up and maintained. I guess my main point is that it is a lot of overhead for a mostly stock jeep. If you get one in I will be interested to see how it goes...:beer:

If you are considering buying a box, give AGR a call.

They are working on a prototype box made from a Saginaw unit. It will hold up better then the Delphi box.

Hydro is great. But like Peanut says...it takes an extra effort to dial things in. And if your running stock size tires but heavier...not sure thats going to make much difference with steering.

I'm still running my stock steering box, I just had it rebuild due to my front wreck I had. I have hydro steering assist and I'm running 40's. I don't suspect my steering box will fail again. But I would have run the stock steering box with 35's.. Anything bigger and then I would have went to hydro assist. But stock tires.. hmmmmm faulty stock box maybe..

Oh, and I'm still running the stock steering lines where needed.

According to the website, AGR now has one for the JK. Don't know the price but it sounds like a beefy unit.

If you're destroying steering boxes then just go hydro assist and get it over with.. There's a reason you're destroying them beyond the fact that they're made cheap. Hydro will take the pressure off of the box. It really isn't hard to set up. Change out the pump, reservoir and box. run your lines and cooler, mount your ram and collapse it then turn all the way to the right before tightening the clamp on the tie rod and other than bleeding the system, you're done.

I run a 1.75 PSC setup down the highway at 80mph with no issues and can steer in the rocks on 40s at 5psi with the front end locked with 1 finger on the wheel.... you won't regret it and you'll never break a box again.
