Any recommendations on an aftermarket radio with video screen and backup camera for my 2007 Rubi? I've bumped into a few things as of late when backing up and would prefer to put some money into preventative actions rather than my insurance at this point.

Best places to mount a backup camera? I do wheel so under the bumper is not a good option. Has anyone mounted one on the spare? Does it work?

Thanks,

Backup Camera

I felt I needed more than just a backup camera, as I has having trouble seeing past my spare in the rear view mirror. I went with both a rear view camera and a backup camera. I purchased the Screen and one camera from Sears.com Part Number listed below. This attachés over my current rear view mirror. I did not like the camera that came with it, also I wanted 2 cameras. I ordered 2 other cameras on Amazon. One was about $25 and the other $27. The upper camera I'm using does not have any distance markers and is on all of the time except when I'm in reverse. I painted it white to match the top. The lower camera comes on in reverse and shows both a centerline and distance markers. Great for connecting to a trailer. I have about $200 into the project including a relay and wire.

at Night

At night the lights cause a lot of camera glare when someone is behind you. Its not the blinding glare you get in a mirror, but you know they are there. When no one is behind they work OK. The camera's I'm using both have 170 deg view so you see a lot more then in a mirror. Distance is off just like in a convex mirror, but you can see the vehicles in the other lanes until they pass the back of the jeep. It took a day or so to get used to, but now it seems normal. It's really great to be able to load the back of the jeep to the top and still be able to see behind you the same. Because I have the top camera as high as I could mount it, even when I'm pulling a trailer I still see everything. You have the option to change the camera's at the touch of a button. I put the top camera on a plug so I can still remove the top if I want to.
