Finally got my aev hood painted. Definitely vents some heat from under the hood, and looks significantly better. I would add this to your must haves on a v8 swap.

It does help, seems like you can get them painted from Quadratec for cheaper than you could buy and paint.....but it's been a while so maybe that's changed.

They lend themselves well to a two-tone paint job.

I had a hard time gettin' paint to stick to the grille sections on the hood so I removed 'em and had 'em powdercoated.

All better now.
