as apposed to buying a bolt in cage, me and a couple buddies been talking about taking some DOM and making some cage additions to the OEM. Would essentially follow the OR Fab type but would be tube through the dash as opposed to the flat part beside it. my my buddies can notch and weld the tubing so I am considering it.

anyone added tubing cage to a JKU?

You're on the right track, but why not just remove the stock stuff if you're already going to this extent? I believe there are a few threads here that chronicle other user's builds, including cages.
