The stubshaft that goes into the double cardan snapped while I was driving on the highway. I do somewhat hard wheeling on 35's. The DS is 3 years old and made for my 3" lift. Should I just get the same thing again? Also, why did it break there of all places?

That's good news

There may have been a weak spot in the metal. A 35" tire with the anemic engines these Jeeps have I think that shaft is plenty strong.

No, I don't think so. That one requires a needle nose fitting right?

yes. that always gets neglected and the only drive shaft i know that comes with a sealed one is the dana spicer performance drive shaft. it is basically the same price as all the popular ones who use dana spicer parts so I always wonder why more people don't cut out the middle man and get one that is made by the company who has more experience than anyone.
