hey all
So starting this week, the ABS & brake light in my 2009 JKUR has been staying on when I start to move forward and I'm trying to figure out why and was hoping you all might have seen this before. It's an auto transmission with about 80k miles. Here's what I have started to do/check:
-The brake pads are all fine, none are worn down at all
-Fluid in the reservoir is full
-There aren't any noticeable leaks that I can see
-The 2 front speed sensors are new-ish, replaced the hubs around a year ago.
-There's no scraping sound coming from any of the wheels

The next thing I was going to try was to bleed the brakes, and add fresh fluid. Now I have noticed that the brakes have been a little squishy lately.

If that doesn't work, what else should I check?

I had the ABS/ESP/ Traction control light on after my last wheeling trip. I pretty much knew what it was but I wanted to verify it. I put the code scanner on and it came back to right rear speed sensor. It was a broken wire. Take it somewhere and have them put a scanner on it. Autozone usually does it for free. That should help pinpoint where the problem is.

Cool, thanks! that was next on the list, replacing the rear sensors. The fronts are relatively new and from what I've been reading, that most likely is the culprit

Got it figured out, it's the ABS control module. Had it scanned at Pep-Boys with the ABS scanner as some of the basic scanners only read check engine codes and not ABS lights. So for shits-n-giggles, I called the dealership to see what it'd cost and come to find out that it's under warranty (my rig is a 2009 JKUR) and there's only a $100 deductible (including parts, which I'm finding is between $150-$240 online, and labor).
