I haven't had my JK odor a long time, and I've never owned a manual trans until now, so I'd like to know whether this is normal: as I let off the clutch to back up, I don't even have to hit the gas at all and the Jeep starts to take off, and when I let the clutch out all the way it seems to have a great deal of torque, so much so that it'll easily start to go 10 mph or more without me even touching the gas. I have to press the brake quite hard to get it to stop, and the Jeep still wants to go as I hold the break!

I ask again - is this normal?

That's pretty normal..modulate the clutch pedal, not the brake.

Mine does the same it is usually right after I start it up and the engine is cold. After it warms up it works fine.

Thanks for the reassurance. I do notice that the problem is more prevalent when I first start the Jeep... I'll just ride the clutch a bit more.

Cold/initial start will have a higher idling rpm than when warmed up.
