OK, I am looking at going to 40 inch tires and I am running into a small issue. I have 18 inch rims and when you go from 37/38 inch up to 40 inch, most of the brands go from 12.5/13.5 inches wide to 15.5 inches wide.

The ultimate question - Will they fit?


6 inch Teraflex lift
Currie Dana 60's front and rear
Spiderlock rims with 3.5" backspacing

I'm running 14.50 wide on 4.5bs and have no issues

The rims I have are 3.5 inches of backspacing.

Highly doubtful that you can get much useful answers on that one unless someone runs a nearly identical set-up as you have. Things tend to have been shifted around when rather large tires are fitted

Is your rear axle stock length or as wide as the front? It would be close up front but may work, the rear with a stock length axle might be tight
I think stock is 66 an widened is 69

My rear axle is 66" wide.

I don't wanna say for sure either way, you could weigh the cost of selling your wheels and picking up a set in 17 and the cheaper cost of 17inch tires or running spacers with your current setup
I know iroks come in 41x14r18
Those would be pretty sexy
Or a 38.5x1350r18 pitbull maddog
